i think it depends on the personality. can u imagine a certain person being called that? and how popular is that name? u dont want everyone in ur city to have a lot of steves or jons.

Steve is MUCH better. It means Crowned one. Also it is not chosen so much these days and he will sound more unique without being too wild of a name.
I also vote for Steve because it is my name.

My name is Steve and I also feel that no nmes are better than the other. Each one of us are giving a name at birth by our parents. It is not good to say "my nme is better than yours or your name is better than mine." They are all good names.
