Actually, Japan just had one a short while ago. In China, you just don't hear about it, but it does happen.
On a side note, Japan has a much higher suicide rate than the USA, as do the Scandinavian countries. Why is that?

I have heard of shooting rampages in Rwanda, Australia, England, Russia, Canada, Germany, and France. Japan also had a poison gas attack in their subway. In case you didn't know, China is a communist dictatorship. No guns for the regular people. That way the people can be slaughtered just like in Tinneman Square. I guess that was a shooting and tank rampage.

The basic family unit is broken. There are more Mother's working today than ever. Primary reason being it takes two incomes to support a family in these days of outrageous prices. When I was in college in 1969 I could buy 4+ gallons of gas for one dollar [$1]. I firmly believe that violent TV shows & video games & war cause young kids to "act out" that violence thinking it's innocent. Another reason IMO is that the violence around this world affects people both sub-consciously and consciously. People may not admit it but deep inside they're deeply troubled by the insane lack for the life of a human being [suicide bombers self-detonating and murdering/slaughtering 100's of innocent people. There's been a severe and astonishing move from the Bible. Have you seen the recent controversy of Mike Huckabee and the people who're going biserk because he did a campaign commercial with what appears to be a cross in the background. That's totally insane. Candidates attacking each other with "you did this and why did you go to that bar back in 1950" type nonsense. There are so many "triggers" which adversely affect people's sense of peace [racism, war, cost of living, peer pressure, drugs, divorce rate higher than ever, too many people in every country causing overcrowding, traffic jams, senseless murders] and I could go on forever.
When I was a kid we left the doors on our home open at night and unlocked. Life was peaceful and there wasn't much to worry about.
I fear this world won't last, given it's current rate of self-destruction, another 10 years. Seriously.

I agree with Truth Hurts. Also, even though some parents don't set out to ignore their kids on purpose, they are so busy working and trying to make ends meet, they don't see the warning signs as clearly as some would have years and years ago. The TV and computer are todays kid's baby sitters and entertainers. The family unit is not as close knit as years ago. How may families do you know who sit down and eat together and discuss their day and what's bothering them? I'm sure they are out there but I don't know many. We used to. My parents would ask about my day, etc.
It's a shame that these kids are not tougher skinned. Why someone would go out and shoot someone because they were picked on is beyond me. A lot of these are just copy cats.

Because our society isnt trying to raise kids with respect for each other and themselves. They also are lacking in manners. We have done this to ourselves and most of these shootings are from people who were picked on as children and have had no stable life or parents who care about them, so society pushes them away and makes them feel even more like an outcast.
