For those giving Linah a hard time, she's only referring to the several questions posed on Y!Answers that kept insinuating that Oprah was racist for supporting Obama...because he's black!
Which is a twisted question because it appears that for some reason people are seeing Oprah supporting Obama and have a problem with it. Why should it matter who Oprah supports?
If Oprah supported Hillary or someone else non-black, we never would have seen those questions.
It's funny because there were several questions the past few days that have made Oprah look like a racist...LOL. Too funny.
Thanks for the question, Linah...I think it's a good one.

I like Obama, but often vote white because that is still the majority of candidates. I don't consider Oprah racist. She is also a woman, she could have endorsed Hillary. I think that her belief in Obama is genuine.

I think you need to get the definition of "racist" correct before you start your babbling. Just because someone who is black helps another person who is black, doesn't mean they are racist, actually, its about opposite as you can get. And no, its not racist for a white person to endorse a white person, and its not sexist for a man to endorse a man, or a woman to endorse a woman. You are talking stupid stuff, knock it off.

i believe that one should endorse the individual most qualified for the job, regardless of anything not directly related to the job itself. some examples are race, sex, belief systems, and personal hobbies. THAT is the key. It would only be considered racist if a certain person were to endorse somebody basing it solely on the race without any knowledge on the person's ideas, opinions, or goals. Anything else would be considered coincidence.

Also, they are many reasons people endorse candidates. If we follow your thinking a white person could be racist for endorsing balck candidate and vice versa..
Endorse candidate for what they stand for and not color.

I am white and I do say NO that is not racist. I don't think it's racist for oprah to endorse Obama. You like who you like and that's it. Your just looking for a reason to find racism.

Of course it isn't racist to endorse a white candidate if you are white.
This is a free country - you can endorse anyone you want.
I think that it just seems "obvious" to a lot of people that Oprah (being black and famous) endorsing Obama (being black and not as experienced in politics) because he is black, is being racist.
That belief is an opinion. Opionions can be anything the person who says it wants it to be and it can also be anything the person hears it wants it to be.
To you that having that opinion is being racist.

If it is only for the fact that the candidate is white and you simply don't want to endorse a black candidate because of his colour then it would be racist. If you feel it is because you honestly think he/she would be the best person for the job then no it is isn't racist.

Why is it racist either way?
Not understanding why anyone (though people surprise me) would consider Oprah endorsing Obama as being racist.
