I have Chevy Cavalier and need to remove Heat Shield near the fuel tank. Looks like 5 rivits were used to put it on. Its falling off after I jumped a curb to avoid hitting a deer. Any thoughts I also want to remove pipe to muffler that seems sodered on instead of just clamps ect. Use a hack saw?

some of the heat shields are riveted on, and you have to drill em out, but remember that in the summer you need that heat shield to keep from heating the gas in the tank up, i would try to put it back up where its supposed to be with some sheet metal screws.
as for the exhaust pipe its not soldiered its welded, you have to cut it out with a hacksaw or sawzall
