Sorry but banks shouldn't be cashing checks against accounts that in the negative, unless the check that was given to you is drawn on your bank, they have to cash it as long as the person who gave you the check as sufficient funds to cover the check. Your other option is to go to the bank (if possible) that the check is drawn on and cash it there. They will require ID. If you can't cash it at the bank because there are none of those banks around you, try a check cashing place. Walmart cashes checks for people too but they charge like $3 I think.

The only thing I can think of is check cashing place. No bank is going to cash a check for you if you don't have a account with them. If you want to cash it in a bank that the check is drawn on then you have to make sure that they allow it. Some banks don't allow that. Check cashing place shouldn't cost too much but I'm not sure if they cash personal checks, because there's no guarantee on the check.

1)The check itself has a bank name on it.. Take it there for free cashing.
2) Check cashing places... $20 1st time fee and 4% of the check... not a good 1 time deal
3) The grocery store... find a local store and endorse an employer's check over.
4) Get a freind with the balance in their account to do it.

Hope these help... Happy Holidays!
