Lots of coffee.... and some "happy music". I'm not a morning person but unfortunately everyone else in my family is so I try really hard to participate. I've found that a good cup of hot coffee gets me started and stick a good "active" cd in the player and things start looking better. This morning it was Carlos Santana's {spelling?} "Danced on into the night" I don't think that's the name of the song.. but it's his new one with the guys from "Nickle back" It has a great beat! This also works for me... try getting up as soon as the alarm goes off.... the longer you linger... the harder it is to get going.

Set the alarm early enough so you have enough time to get ready slowly. (I've found this is more than worth the half hour or whatever of sleep that I miss out on) I hate having to rush in the morning - and that how I used to equate early mornings when I tried to get every last minute of sleep that I could.

An apple will do a better job at waking you up than a cup of coffee. Try to cut down on caffeine later in the day - it stops you sleeping as soundly, so you'll feel groggier in the morning.

There are people that say they aren't a morning person because they can't sleep at night, and there are those that say that they aren't morning people because they refuse to sleep at night.

Your answer depends on which one you are.

If you just don't want to sleep at night, then I suggest you change your habits. Go to bed earlier, and wake up earlier. It's a no-brainer. The earlier you wake up, they earlier you have to prepare and settle into your daily routine.

If you, for some reaon, simply cannot sleep at night, legitimately or otherwise, then you should re-arrange your sleeping patterns so that you can sleep at a different time. (Late afternoon) for example, and then you can stay up all night, and into the next morning.

give you self pleasure in the mornings. Like your favorite breakfast food. Time to workout, or a long hot shower. Anything that makes you look forward to it begin your day that way. It makes you happy and less crabby about the hands on the clock.
