I am thinking of spending a couple of nights in Amsterdam next May and then flying to Geneva for four nights. Can anyone recommend any cheap but pleasant accomodation in either place? If recommendations are from personal experience, all the better. Cheers!

As for Geneva, I stayed at this place for 4 nights in the summer: http://www.cityhostel.ch/English/

It's a short walk from the UN building and the main train station, middle of the city, comfortable private rooms available. They have a games room etc and provide you with free travel around the city on the trams etc! Brilliant place, hope that helps :) x

Personally ALWAYS use tripadviser.com - you can type in the place you want to stay and your price range, and then read loads of reviews from real people, always hugely helpful I find!!
