I believe he is the first president in 26 years who has a brain in his head, and if he wins then maybe for once our country can experience the change that is needed to make it great equal and fair once again.

I think he, like the majority of the candidates running, want to expand the powers of the Presidency, as opposed to keep it within the limits of the Constitution. I will not vote for any candidate that seeks to expand the powers of the Executive branch.

Personally I don't care for him, so much of what he advocates in his speeches conflicts with his voting record. He spoke out against the Patriot Act, only to vote in favor of reauthorizing the Patriot Act, that cannot pledge to have all troops out of Iraq by 2013, supported Bush's sanctions against Iran and co-sponsored a bill designating the Iranian National Guard a terrorists organization, that implied he'd invade Pakistan, that favors amnesty for illegal immigrants, that is for entitlement programs that will increase the deficit leaving the burden on taxpayers and that accepts contributions from influential lobbyists, corporations & special interest groups, while claiming he's the "anti-establishment" candidate.
He lacks substance, experience & integerity.

To answer your question;
I think Obama is a nice person, but I would have to agree with Bill Clinton in the fact that he does not have the experience to lead America with less than one term in the Senate under his belt, and no Governor experience.

What race thing? Really! I like him because he is true to himself.... he doesn't seem to be involved in the typical two-faced maneuvers of his competition. Refreshing, really.
I like him and I'd vote for him if his political views were somewhat aligned with mine. At least you know what you're getting. One can respect someone who is honest about their positions. I have no respect for the ones that are just scheming to figure out which way the opinion polls are going to lean and work hard to stay in front of that direction without examining and displaying their true beliefs.
So... I think he is an excellent man as a candidate.
As far as his politics, I think his views are the wrong direction for america.

I think all that glitters is not gold.!
His cohort "O" tuned me off of his race for president. I believe she has way too much of everything.
EDITED:
TO ASH: and the stupid flag story
Apparently you used the word stupid on the wrong thing. You also called the USA flag stupid!!! doesn't say much for your patriotism, does it?
Watch the video and see how many people put their hand over their heart.
Star Spangled Banner Billy Joel Super Bowl 41 - 2/2007

Americans should stand and face the flag, and many people put their hand over their heart while singing the National Anthem.

I like him. I think he is honest, and is not afraid to say what's on him mind (even if the public doesn't want to hear it). He has some pretty good ideas, and his foreign policy plans are in line with what I think our Country needs. I like his voting record (pre-campaigning), and some of the bills he has sponsored deal with what I think is important (fuel efficiency, better education, and especially the bill about deceptive practices in Federal elections). He has my vote.

I think he would do a fine job. I keep hearing about lack of experience, Bush had governor experience but it didn't help him at all, he was still fumbling when he came into office. Clinton had governor experience but it didn't help him get his programs through congress. Daddy Bush had lots of government experience, he only lasted one term. Maybe we need less experience and way more integrity!!
EDIT - someone mentioned that stupid flag story again, in the photo where he was not saluting but it wasn't a pledge photo it was national anthem. "I was taught by my grandfather that you put your hand over your heart during the pledge, but during the Star Spangled Banner, you sing!" Obama said

He's perfect for the job, but he would not win in the US. People ar eobsessed with "experience" and don't know that the "experience" of Cheney and his ridiculous puppet brought us the biggest crisis since vietnam and the worst economic situation in decades.

I don't think he'll win this time around. But he'll sit back, watch and learn from the Senate, and run again the next open time. He's young. He's not going to be VP to anyone - and possibly get smeared by their presidency.
