I am safer when I carry a cell phone but every coin has 2 sides. When it rings I am obliged to answer otherwise the person who calls me will be offended or worried. The callers expect you to answer a cell phone, they do not think that you maybe sleeping, resting, did not hear it, it is in another room, you are in the bathroom etc. They think a cell phone should be always answered and that they should be able always to reach you. This is added tension in our life. Email too is similar, if somebody sends an email he expects an immediate answer. You have a feeling that you can not take a break from it. The result is that modern technology serves us well but it is an added tension.

Life with cell phones of cheaper kind can affect health in the long run. Cell phones are repeatedly used to avoid negative confrontation due to lack of confidence in you.
Once in a while cell phone is all right, but every now an then and every day is boring.
If you would ask the elderly they would certainly say life is better without cell phones because when you meet you can read the body language, willingness to talk and decide in person at once -rather than waiting to meet.

The people above are totally right by saying that face to face conversations are better. However, I think the main purpose of cellphones should be to stay connected and basically a way to make plans. I use my phone to call my friends so we can decide where to meet and stuff like that. I think people should stop using their phones so much. When I'm with my friends, I don't really pay attention to my phone.

It was much better, no stupid towers all over the place, drivers actually drove their cars and were not distracted by phone calls.
Teenagers actually talked to one another and did things together instead of sitting at home texting people they don't know.
We weren't wasting money buy having to provide a phone for every one in the family.
We did not pollute the environment with all that plastic waste being produced, not to mention the exposure of ones brain cells to microwave transmitters.
You didn't have to buy a new phone every six months just to get the new features that everybody else has to have.

And the best part, PEACE AND QUIET EVERYWHERE!!!!

Yes! Now eveyone has cell phones. You can not go anywhere where you don't hear someone's phone ringing. Its so annoying when you are shopping and there are people on the phone left and right discussing all sorts of things that should be personal. Its also very hard to keep up to date with the best technology or network.

Cell phones are great in that they're convenient, and I wouldn't like to imagine life without cell phones!

BUT...

Wherever there's convenience, there's a price to pay! Cell phones have radioactive waves which have been known to cause brain tumors. You can't talk on them too much!

Hope this info was useful. Have a Merry Christmas!

P.S. Why is this in the Egypt section?

Yes and no. Cell phones can be a pain with dropped calls, bad reception, and batteries that die when you're in the middle of a call. But they also are helpful because you can keep in touch with family and classmates and employers etc from anywhere. All technology has positives and negatives.

I don't have one. Husband loves his. Life was better before in that the roads were a little safer (you know how people drive when they have that phone up to their ear).
It could now be considered a love/hate relationship with cell phones.

BOTH, life became better & worse after cellphones, how ??

Better:
Because the cellphones give u the ability to contact anybody anywhere anytime.

Worse:
Because - scientifically - cellphones r destroying the cells of ur brain through the dangerous electro-magnetic waves that comes out of the cellphones

Example,
If u put the cellphone beside a TV or PC, u can see & hear what electro-magnetic waves r doing to them ( these waves affect these devices badly )
So what they r doing to the human brain, can u imagine ?!!

In my point of view, every technology has its GOOD side & BAD side.
So all the technology companies NOW r concerning about manufacturing devices with minimum side effects to human with all means
