Isacc is way off here. If he lives there, he could claim residency. Does he "live" there or just spend time there that includes overnighters. Living there includes it being his main residence. Problem comes with the law. If he has his clothes there, he may convince a cop that he does, in fact, live there. Could get sticky if your roommate breaks up with him and he wants to push the issue. I would worry more about the apartment contract if he isn't on it. It could be grounds to evict you.

Not necessarily. A legal residence is considered to be your principal place of residence. If he is not paying rent there, having most of his possessions there, is not registered to vote there, does not have his drivers license at that address, he is just free-loading off you and your girl friend.

However, if he's contributing to any utilities, there may be an issue.

But just staying there with no contribution---FREELOADER-That's it.
