I feel exactly the same.
I have brilliant ideas for writing a novel, but when I think into it, I may have a good storyline but don't know enough about anything to fill in the gaps, history or knowledge.
I know some writers to take the trouble to investigate and study the extras, but I would like to just 'know' a few things without that. Like Catherine Cookson, she could remember the past and embroider it into her stories.

The best thing to do is find something you are passionate about and learn everything you can about it. I have degrees in Engineering and Psychology. I'm a good Psychologist than can build and fix her own computers. I have been successful in both my careers.

No I'm pretty useless at everything really! I'm apparently quite good at programming and catching the bees on Animal Crossing: Wild World but thats it lol

I don't believe you. We are all good at something. Please don't pull yourself down like this.
For a start, you know how to use a computer.
Look at other hobbies. I am happiest when I'm concocting different dishes in my kitchen. I enjoy swimming bowling and I go to college 3 x times a week for maths English and computing........Life's short......

You probably do know alot about alot. The only people who really worry about this are usually the one's who are smart, and are likewise perfectionists, and therefore are always concerned that they arn't smart enough or dont know enough
