I am so disgusted that they did that. Time magazine, names Putin man of the year? After he sends nuke shipments to Iran?

I would think they would completely castigate and verbally desecrate him vs make the world think hes a great man. Hes surely not.

Obviously nuke shipments is the same as nuclear shipments, but I appreciate your arrogant gesture.

Putin has been THE most destructive man on the planet, impeding talks with Iran, feeding them fuel for their nuclear plants, fighting the world on missile early warning systems, completely undermining the Russian election system, etc etc. Thats all that pigheaded adversary needs is more ego fuel.

Its interesting to see some of the different comments about this issue.
Seems that the American people are becoming more and more acceptable to anything. Putin is doing his best to become a dictator of Russia, even if he isn't the President!
He is doing his very best to bring communism back to the country.
It doesn't take a genius or a real man to lead by fear and destruction! The man of the year should have been a person who has made changes in this world through leadership, and settin the example!
Putin does not in any form meet that description!
As for Time Magazine...sounds like CNN is running it!
So I don't READ it!

First off, he sent nuclear fuel to a civilian purpose power plant in Iran.

Second, he has done more for Russia and the region than anyone in years. Under Putin Russia is finally recovering from the Cold War.

Third, he's the only one in the world actively working against what China is doing-that includes trying to invade Russian land.

Forth, he's one of the only people in the world willing to really stand up to Bush when he tries to do things of questionable legality that are not needed. Russia already had equipment covering the area where Bush wanted to spend millions of dollars to put radar and missle defense equipment-right on Russia's doorstep. He did the right thing, just as we would be right if someone tried to put weapons in Cuba supposedly to defend against Mexico.

Fifth, Man of the Year is based on influence, not necessarily positive influence. Hitler was also named man of the year once. Just because you dont understand their criteria doesnt mean theyre wrong-in fact it means you are in this case.

Time, like the other print media, is rapidly becoming more and more irrelevant. This is the same mag that named the PC Man of the Year a few years back. Go figure. I really don't care what Time does or says. I can't think of the last time I even glanced at one.

I am going to have to take a life time subscription to that magazine for doing so! If only our president had one tenth the intellect V. Putin has! After george gets done screwing this world our only saving grace may well be V. Putin!

Yes, to name a communist man of the year tells you a lot about them. How they ascribe to socialistic, communistic rule. I would not, will not waste a penny on their magazine.

I know some of you will say he is not communist. Maybe not in a technical sense but in practice he very much is.

Time backs a man that has lessened freedom of speech in his own country. How hypocritical of time.

He did not send any nuke shipments to Iran. He sent nuclear fuel for the peaceful purposes of Iran.

TIME's Man of the Year is not a popularity contest - it is just someone who has had a big impact on world events. Don't take it so personally.

Like him or hate him, he had the most impact during the year. Putin is a very intelligent individual.

The media tells you what they want you to hear, not the true story, especially the friendly folks at Fox and CNN.
