I wouldn't want to be friends with somebody that doesn't like me for who I am. I wouldn't change anything about you. Remember, they are the one's missing out on a friendship.

Kids are jerks. It boils down to that. A school environment can be very trying - from my recollection of my school days, it's all one big popularity contest anyhow... You're best off not investing any effort.
Better to simply realize that you are surrounded by a herd of half-formed personalities trying their best to establish a position of dominance through the act of treading on others. In school, everything's relative and the "cool kids" ardently believe that they will only be cool as long as there are "uncool" kids for them to be cooler than. It's all bullshit and frankly not worth your time.

In my opinion, truly cool people manage to be cool without doing so at the expense of others - anyone worthy of your friendship will simply be fun to be around and will enjoy your company - deaf or not!

Perhaps they need some educating. Some poeople assume that deafness means an inability to learn. My sis is deaf, and she writes romance novels. If it's okay withyour folks, you can write to me whenever you want. I am a 48 year old grandmother in Mississippi. I would rather they be there when we write though. I don't like not knowing who my kids are talking to.

Awww sweetie,
They are not friends if they pick on you.
Be yourself and in time you will have tons of friends and find your love.
Are you in middle school?
Because if you are, that is the time most kids tease each other.
High school will be different.
Be patient and don't change a thing about you.

Hang in there! Kids can be very mean, and school is just the first part of you life! It gets much better after you graduate! Don't pay any attention to the ones who pick on you! Karma will get them in the long run!

Don't let the idiots get you down. The only thing your disability means is that you'll have the advantage of weeding out the ******* and having only GOOD men to pick from.

Remember, most teenagers pick on other people because they're stupid, immature, emotionally stunted little twerps who think they know everything, but in fact know NOTHING about life.

Kids don't understand what's going on with you yet. They will learn. Also you are missing a perception, so you're going to get misconceptions alot, until you learn to read lips.

After reading this and trying to understand what you are attempting to say, I suspect that your deafness isn't the brunt of the jokes.

Friends are there to support and not to criticize and if they are teasing you then they are not your friends, leave them, and just be yourself. All the best.
