Marion Barber makes it? Are you serious? Don't get me wrong, he's a good back, but there are better this season - I'd rather have seen a guy like Earnest Graham (who put up similar stats in less time) or Ryan Grant make it. How can you justify giving a pro bowl spot to a runningback who only averages 60 rushing yards a game?
Also, Dallas sent two from their secondary in. Two guys from a lackluster corp? Exactly why you shouldn't let fans vote for the pro bowl. Newman deserves a spot, but Hamlin was a poor choice.
Another thing I have a problem with - Osi makes it over Trent Cole? Cole actually plays the run! Osi gets run over. Terrible choice right there.
At DT, Darnell Dockett and Mike Patterson both had excellent seasons. Do they deserve spots over the people who are there? Ehhh, I'd put either of them in over Tommie Harris, but the Williamses (how do you pluralize that??) each played excellent as run-stuffers.
I also think that there were better choices than Lance Briggs for outside linebacker.
As far as the AFC goes... I don't know that Faneca was the best choice at guard. He had off year, but at the same time, he still was amongst the best, so I can't exactly say he doesn't deserve a spot.
At DE Mario Williams got left out- he has played excellent, and he also can play the run. At the same time, who would he replace? My vote would be to replace Taylor, but it would still be close because Taylor causes more turnovers.... so I can't in good conscience say one belongs there more than the other. Judgement call, and they gave it to the vet.
At LB, I don't think Ray Lewis deserves the spot. He got it mostly due to his name. Kirk Morrison had a much better season on an equally bad team.
At safety, Troy Polamalu does not deserve a spot. He played awful this year. There are quite a few guys who played great, and one of those guys is Kerry Rhodes (yet again!). He causes more turnovers than anyone at the safety position.

right off the bat i am going to say i am a jags fan, but that is not the perspective i am looking at this from. now i know Fred Taylor only has 4 TD's but he is splitting time with a very good running back and still has 1091 yds. the only other back in the league that is doing what he is doing is A.D. right now Fred is 18th in the all time rushing leader cat. and if he has the same year next year he will be around Franco Harris, and Thurman Thomas. Fred might end up as the greatest back to have never played in a pro bowl.

Kellen Winslow Jr. and Marquez Colston both got snubbed.
Oh well, it happens every year. I think the selections should be made AFTER the regular season though. There are still two more games to pad statistics with.

Trent Cole over Osi... otherwise you could make a case for most players.
I don't feel like Fred Taylor is a no brainer at all, because his numbers were not all that better than Parker. You could have picked Taylor, but it is not a snub.
It is a joke to call Welker a snub. Ever other WR on that list has better numberst than him, so how can you say that he got snubbed. They all have more tds and more yards.

It is what it is. You have to agree with the Patriots running amok on the roster. Theyve had a MONSTER year. It looks like the only team that could possibly stop them may be the Giants and that's a stretch.

It's just like any other year, too few spaces and al ot of players that could have easily been chosen that weren't.
Overall they all deserve the selection (no Fred Taylor again though).

No way in hell does Antonio Gates start at TE over Tony Gonzalez or Kellen Winslow.
What a ridiculous joke.
And how did Koppen make the PB at Center when his team is ranked 14th in rushing...FOURTEENTH!!!???

No real problems except LT starting in front of the NFL's leading rusher, Willie Parker. I know the season is not over yet and he could pass Willie in the standings. But, the ballots have been cast and Willie should have been named the starter.
