People overgeneralize. They may hate 'typical' tendencies of one gender or the other, or be PO'd at previous relationships, etc, but if anyone can say they 'hate', sight unseen, anyone of a particular gender, race, country, religion, etc, for that reason and that alone, they are battling mental demons.
So, if thrown into a room altogether--some would hurt and kill, some would be hurt and killed, some would not say a word, some would get busy, probably one couple would be engaged........a disco party may break out........oh, and if you had maybe 50,000 people in there, one may change their attitude permanently.
Arguing on YA serves one purpose....it gives everyone the opportunity to blow off steam behind the mask of anonymity which is the internet. Only feelings get hurt here.

Like the Dr. Phil house? Sometimes they come out with a different outlook but sometimes there is no changing! However, if men hate women and women hate men it must be for a reason. The women/men are not going to trust the other. It could also backfire and cause their beliefs to become more concrete. It is not like the haters are going to draw out the best in the people they hate.

Maybe
I just dont believe that there are a lot of man or woman haters out there. There certainly appear to be some on this forum but in reality, I bet a very low % of these people are actually haters of their opposite sex.
Yahoo Answers is not reality and there are a lot of Devils Advocates on here (me included).

Throw in a pool full of jello and you may just have something there! LOL Seriously though, I agree with Rio. I think once they are face to face and not behind a computer, some will come out being less hate-full than others. I disagree with another poster though, a "hate-in" is a capital idea! :)

Kind of like how they make rival gang members stay in the same cell in jail? Yeah, I think that would be a great idea provided they were stuck there for a very, very long time. I think most of these people are just getting a rise out of winding people up, however, because they have nothing better to do at work.

Good luck with that. Better have a metal detector at the door. LOL
EDIT: I agree with Rio below. I don't believe there are as many genuine 'haters' on this site as it appears sometimes. There's a lot of trash talk just for the sake of argument.

I say we lock the doors too!
I think it may work for some, but not others.
It may take days/weeks/months, though.

I'm fairly certain they would quickly shut up and be more reserved in their comment when communications were face to face rather than in cyber space. It's more difficult to rude, obnoxious, etc directly to a person's face.

I really don't understand the concept of men and women hating each other on anything but a one to one basis.
I love women, they are the reason that I live and love.
My mother, my sisters, all are important to me.

I think some of the haters here say things on the Internet that they wouldn't be caught dead saying in real life. They would come out making plans to get together for coffee the next weekend.
