Agreed.
I think that after the Reagan era, American politics changed. Up until that time, politicians could disagree, debate the issues, and at the end of the day go have a beer together.
Since the First Gulf War, politics has become an embittered battle, with either side just absolutely hating the other.
Until this is rectified, not much is going to get done legislatively. We don't require the country to have a single unanimous opinion, but as the only remaining world power, we should set an example of acting unified behind the decisions that are made.
I think that it is the duty of all Americans to respect the policies of the United States government, even if they don't agree with them. I think it is also the duty of all Americans to respect those in office, regardless of their opinion of the actions taken while in office.
When civility returns to politics and people can sit down and discuss issues again, and go have a beer afterwards, no matter what gets decided...our society will be better off.

So you think that it is dirty politics to distinguish your record from your opponents? I want to hear about the candidates record and since the mainstream media isn't doing it, the ads are the only places to find out this information. I know that I will not get accurate information about huck from him or his ads.
To me ads need to tell about things candidates have actually done. Dirty politics happens if you attack family members (who have nothing to do with the campaign) of those running or you attack their religion. For an example, I think it would be bad to have an ad that focuses on huckabees son torturing a dog at scout camp and blaming him for it, but I think it is fair game to question huckabee's judgement for pulling strings to make sure that no charges were filed against his son and so he wouldn't get into any trouble. You can't hold a candidate responsible for the actions of a family member but you can and SHOULD hold the candidate responsible for his own actions.

You think Hillary Clinton is "playing fair"? Who digs up a candidate's kindergarten report and tries to use it against him?
As for Mitt Romney, he's doing what he has to. When you're in a race for the presidency, you have to say why you're better than your opponents, because if you're not better than they are, then you should drop out of the race.
Mike Huckabee hasn't endured the intense scrutiny that the other "frontrunners" of the GOP have faced. It's his turn now, and it's coming down to the wire.

Don't be such a wimp! Politics is a dirty business. How is pointing out the differences between the candidates stances on issues and talking about a candidates records dirty politics? It isn't, dude. Hucakbee has a very poor record as governor of Arkansas; he raised taxes and allowed hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens into Arkansas that big businesses wanted. Pointing out these facts is not dirty politics. Stop being so sensitive.

Romney is highlighting the differences between his record and Huckabee's record as governors.
Clinton is the one that is playing dirty politics with unwarranted attacks on Obama.

You cannot trust this mormon candidate. I dont think we can say Obama is fair either, as he played dirty too like romney (push polls, and negative campaigns at least a month or so ago).
