my 11 month old son hates solids i have tried chunky and smooth but all he does when i feed it to him he gags to the point of sometimes puking. His prediatrician says there is no problem and that he will come around but i am worried. All he wanats is his bottle. He weighs at around 22lbs and seem healthy i am just afraid of him loosing nutrients becasue all he wants to eat is his bottle (formula) HELP!

The taste of the food is different from his bottle so that may be part of the problem. Target has a thing that looks like a funny shaped pacifier with a mesh bag on the end. You can put solid things such as fruit, veggies, mashed potatos etc in it and the child sucks it out through the mesh. They will not choke but will get used to the taste of the other food.

All you can do is keep trying and make sure the pieces of food are small enough that he doesn't choke. Some children just don't like solids. My neighbor's girl was the same way...except instead of choking, she would spit it out. She didn't start really eating solids until about 12-13 months. They just kept offering them and finally she decided to like them.
