If there is no such thing as Global Warming as the Gov tells us, why are the Polar caps melting at an alarming rate? After countless photos showing how much has melted and with the use of evidence scientists have supplied dating the soils and the ice and have concluded that the poles haven't done this for 65million years(about the time of the dino extinction) is the government going to wait until the seas rise and everything dries up before admitting they have been lying to the public?

The people that benefit the most from the use of ''fossil fuels'' did not want to acknowledge the truth because that would mean that they would have to change their ways and they would make less money. Now the time has come that no one can pretend any more. Probably the filthy rich has somewhere to go when this catastrophe occurs.
The earth has gone through this a few times before. We know that for a fact. Global warming started long before the "Industrial Revolution" and the invention of the internal combustion engine. Global warming began 18,000 years ago as the earth started warming its way out of the Pleistocene Ice Age-- a time when much of North America, Europe, and Asia lay buried beneath great sheets of glacial ice.
How much effect humans have had on the warming is not known. One thing for sure though is that we could have tried long ago to control it or at least slow it down. There is only good to be gained by going green. Our young men and women would not be in a third world country fighting for oil!! We all know that that is why Bush sent them there.
Already much of Alaska is flooded. Many villages have had to be abandoned and Alaskas forests are turning into swamps.
There is an abundance of evidence about people and areas that are already being greatly affected by global warming. All anyone has to do who doubts it is spend a little time doing some research.

Who says global warming isn't a cyclical and normal event? Who says that what mere humans do has the power or the best interest to decide what is in the best interest of the continuation of Earth? Who's to say that whatever changes come might not be needed and necessary to advance Earth and it's remaining populations? Who's to say that whatever is destroyed won't then in turn uncover something better? What the heck does our government know? Since when does the government tell us the truth about anything? Since when have they had the answer to fix anything? Whats more dangerous...a few cents more for electricity with a safe bulb or a few cents less for one with mercury? Is rising food prices and more starving people worth an alternative that literally takes food (a living necessity) out of the mouths of people and feed for other life forms on this planet better than continuing to research other alternatives? We were aware of climate change decades ago and for every change we made in a positive direction our government went the opposite direction and now they "know" what they're doing? LOL

There was a campaign that Maldives some 250 islands in Indian Ocean will be submersed in ocean, because all the island s are two or three feet above the sea level and thickly populated. But after 15 years nothing had happened, rather than emerging a few new islands?! Read "Micheal Crichton's" "State of Fear" you will get some interesting thoughts.

I really don't understand where you heard that the government is denying global warming. But, yes it is true. The news is full of reports that the polar caps are growing smaller. According to the last report I have seen. They are less then half the size they used to be. As for what is the government going to do? Your guess is a good as mine, and anyone else's.

How can the sea rise when the ice caps melt, if you believe that, then Alaska and Canada would already be under water. The water evaporates slowly and it is not replaced by more snow or rain, geez. Best question I have seen in this category.

Again I risk being Non-PC. There is global warming, it is just not caused by humans. It is part of the natural cycle of the Earth. It is reminiscent of the "population explosion" myth of the early 70's. That is not to say that there is anything wrong with being "green" I think we owe it to our planet to take care of her and treat he right. I just don't think that anything we as humans do will slow down or speed up the warming cycle.
Why do you ask questions where I know my answer will make people angry with me?? Do you derive some perverse pleasure from this??

The new stance now by the government is there is global warming but it is not man made.So slowly but surely we are getting an answer to the cause and effect of global warming

And lots of places will be flooded so people will have to move making the population density problem that much worse. Yes it will take a lot more evidence to convince the government.

I think the Government knows plenty more than they are owning up to, in this situation and many other situations. I personally don't think were going to get much help on this ; we as the people need to do more. Look to the scientists, the environmentalists and ourselves.

Global warming is like so many other problems, they will be cast aside and let future generations try to deal with them, but the affect will be non reversable by then.
