Because the AL wins the All Star game every year and there would only be home games for games 1,2,6, and 7. The Red Sox are too busy destroying their opponents during the first four games and the series never has a chance to get back to the Fens to reward the fans. Go REDsOX! Redsox record last 8 World Series games: 8-0.

Whos says they can't, but I will tell you this, in both years, American League won the all-star game, that won them that right to have homefield advantage in the World Series, no matter which 2 teams make it there, and the American League has won the All-star game each year this rule has been around. And both teams they have swept the team they played. So it doesn't seem to me that they can't win the World Series at Fenway Park, they choose not to. Really then hurry up, and sweep the tems, instead of getting to to where it goes back for any of the (if needed) games at Fenway Park. The Boston Red Sox were more deserving of it in 2004, and not this year. They just chose to try, and do sweep the series, and get it tone so early that the baseball season is over early, a no more baseball is played, and see on TV again until Spring training.

did you not see the clinching game in '04? All those screaming fans wearing red were not Cardinals fans, they were the Fenway Faithful.
Next year the Sox can tell the AL to lose the All Star game and WS home field advantage; then when they sweep the Series they can celebrate at home.
Besides, if you watch the World Series victory parade through Boston you see hundreds of thousands of Fenway Faithful celebrating, and none of them seem too upset that the title was clinched on the road

it dosent matter where we win the championship. I would rather have game 1 and 2 in fenway so the team can get off to a good start and have the fenway crowd behind them and go into the national league park up two games

You can see them go nuts in the streets of Boston on all the news channels.
But they haven't clinched at home because they swept both teams while having home field advantage in the 1st 2 games. The only way they could clinch would be to take the series to games 6 or 7, or go into the WS with a worse record than their opponent

The A.L. has won the All Star game for the past 6 years.
And it's easier to sweep a series than let it go 6 or 7 games.

Eek!! After all those blank years? Now you want them to win it at home? Believe me, the White Sox were just happy to win it. You should be, too, especially since the Red Sox now have a VERY good streak going in WS wins.

I would think that just winning is good enough without trying to pick your spot where you would like to see the clinching game occur. These teams will go out and play as hard as they can and if the final win happens to be on the road they will take it.

That's a stupid question. What did you want them to do? Purposely lose a few games on the road, so they can clinch at home? Idiotic question. Be happy they won, end of story.
