My parents were great. So were my grandparents.
My parents taught me:
1) Pay attention to the kids, listen to them and when they have troubles, treat them seriously. Spend time with them, but let them grow, don't smother them.
2)A good sense of humor is important and can get you through a lot of bad times.
3)If mom & dad aren't happy, neither are the kids...the marriage should be #1 priority.
4)Family is everything

What I learned from my Parents, was Nothing. The only way they Lived was always having fights, between them, and they only saw us Kids as something that was on their way, or a fly you could brush away. But, maybe I did Learn something from them, I am a better Wife, Mother, and Grandmother because of them, I would give my Life for my Family. Thanks, for your question.

don't blow up & throw things
have your own bank accounts, savings, & retirement
don't stay for the kids
take nothing for granted
30 yrs together doesn't mean it will last a lifetime
(they got divorced after being married for 30 yrs)
