Oh... well the crazy part comes less in the excuse section, and more in the lack of one..... Once I had sex with a coworker before work, and we were both really late - we just didn't set an alarm? lol...
We both showed up, late and disheveled.... Oh, I couldn't bring myself to make up a bad excuse, everyone KNEW, and so, i just said sorry.....
That, was the worst, and the most embarrassing day at work every.... The sex was great though ;)

I never make excuses but I will tell you one that one of my employees gave once , He called and said he wouldn't be in as his doctor feared he may have some skin cancer so the doctor scheduled him for an " Autopsy" . After I stopped laughing I said so are you now tendering your resignation as well ?:)).

I had broken up with my boyfriend and cried myself silly.. so I rang up work and said I had vomiting and the runs... oh well.. Ive never rung up unless I have been sick for real ever again...I was so distressed.... ah.. young love

That one of my kids was car sick and we couldn't travel. It gave us an extra day of vacation.
