There is no way that he would EVER be hired ANYWHERE in West Virginia. WV is a very loyal state. When he went back on his word and took the Michigan job, he "burnt all his bridges" in his home state. Mayor Bob Riggs of Grant Town, Rod's home town, took down signs that said "Rich Rodriguez's hometown". His own home town hates his guts now. I used to like the guy but saw some flashes of him "having no class". He has a severe case of "potty mouth" and always is seen on tv mouthing obscenities. I hope he falls flat on his face in Michigan and no one else in America will take him. Then maybe he'd be forced to leave the country. Maybe find a home in Afghanistan where no one knows who he is. Then again a US Trooper from WV might recognize him and .................. you draw the mental picture.

Nope he won't ever be hired back in the state for leaving a program at UWV which over the last few years has been a whole lot better than UM. I'll never understand these freakin idiot coaches out there leaving a program they got up and going they way they want getting the money they want only to leave to go fix someone elses crap for same, less, or even more money but they all seem to be white guys getting the jobs no minorities except for Navy hired anyone of minority i am a white guy and i am sure there are allot better qualified black, hispanic, and other minority candidates out there who deserve a shot instead of seeing retreads back on the sidelines i'm just sick of it and can;t understans why a school would want someone who was FIRED from a job when they can get someone fresh and new thats looking for a shot

Rich Who? NO I don't think anyone would want him in West Virginia not because he wanted to better himself, but just the way he went about it is the thing. No one has any respect for him at all, atleast anyone I know and I don't think we'll forget it anytime soon. If you can't live on almost 2 million a year, how are you gonna make it on 2.5 any better? I personally hope he gets everything in life he deserves. I think we'll get a descent coach, maybe even better regardless, I'll still be a Mountaineer Fan win or lose. GOOOO MOUNTAINEEERS
Looking forward to the Fiesta Bowl...

I would hope he can get a job at a WV school, including WVU, if he wanted it. He is a coach that has a offensive system that is very tough to stop once his personnel match his requirements.
Hopefully Michigan gives him at least 5 years to allow him to bring in 'his' recruits to show what his system can do against a old style (3 yards and a cloud of dust) league.
College football is a business just like any other sport. Rich Rod made a business decision and shouldn't be judged negatively for that. I, as a WVU fan, don't necessarily love the choice he made but I can't blame him for it either.
If I got a job with a local oil company and then got offered a job with Texaco would I be wrong with accepting it?

I understand how people in WV are mad, but they have to understand that's the way the buisness works. Coaches are people too. They want the best job possible. Michigan pays more money, is more prestigous, he can get better recruits, and there is nothing better than playing in a stadium where there is 100,000 fans and more every game. He can't wait till the end of the season, cause Michigan wont wait till the end of the season. In college football you dont have time to **** around when it comes to getting a coach. You need a coach cause a recruit wont sign with a school until he knows who the coach is. As for how long he will be at Michigan, I have no idea. I mean he had success at West Virginia, and since Hart and Henne are leaving, he has some younger players he can mold to form a new offense.

He will probably end up coaching there for a long time if 1- The nations number 1 recruit in Terrelle Pryor who is a Mobile QB.it would start a spread offence and maybe allow the wolverines to go .500 the first year. but on the flipside the Qb at michigan is Ryan Mallet who is actually pretty decent. and he has pretty much said if they get Pryor he is gone....So soo far Rich might get one good talent but he looses a proven player and it might not make the locker room a nice place.....Hopefully they actully will beat a team like App St. and wont become the laughing stock of the Big 10.....
Also i dont know about WV's rivalrys but there is nothing like the OSU-Mich game and i dont think Rich can take that type of pressure look at how he choked at the Pitt game.......
So basically Rich fails because he is too hard headed to change offence and He gets fired for never being able to beat OSU......
Go bucks

Unfortunately I think he will be there at least 6 to 7 yrs. As for him getting a job in WV, I wouldn't let em assist a pee-wee football team let alone coach one in WV.
We in WV need to look at it like this. The guy lied about being true when he turned down the Alabama job. That he would never leave his home state. So the heck with him let him go because we need a coach that is going to stick around a while. I worked with a guy that played for him at Glenville State & he sayed he was a jerk anyway so forget the bum!
And no I have been a WVU fan my whole life & I would have some respect for him if he would have took the Alabama job.

Give the guy a break. The Michigan job is a promotion for him. I'm not a Michigan fan by no means, but Michigan has one of the greatest historys in all of college football. Another thing is Michigan does not fire coaches. I think he will do great at Michigan. Ohio State and the rest of the big ten better watch out for Rich Rodriguez and Michigan.

I can imagine how mad the folks in WV are right now.
I say that he'll be a bust at Michigan since he's pretty much stuck with all the current players who aren't familiar with his offensive scheme.
It will take him a good 3 years to implement it there.
I'm an Illini fan, so i hope that they continue to build on what's started there now.

I read all you people trashing Rich, but you all forget one thing he also said. He said he would stay as long as WVU and the fans wanted him. With all the trash he took last year after being offered Bama, the loss to Pitt and after hearing the fans say if he wants to leave then let him after talking to Michigan. I would not be surprised if he believes the fans turned on him. Thats right!!!! I said it!!!!! The WVU fans drove him to leave. The people in West Virginia are doing what they normally do in life, being to stupid to realize it was their fault. Oh and for the record I live in West Virgina and I am a big fan of Michigan football for 20 years. Oh and if he doesnt beat Ohio State it wont be long 3-5 years.
