sounds like a connection problem ... try another keyboard and if that fixes your problem ... buy a new one ... don't worry about the answer with the memory ... he was just trying to confuse you ... and he did ... it has nothing to do with memory ...

Try unplugging and reconnecting your keyboard several times. One of the first things you want to try whenever you have an electrical or connectivity issue is to re-seat the plugs. Prongs and connectors can get oxidized or dirty just by sitting there. The same is also true with cards you plug into your computer, even the memory. The way to fix it is to unplug it and replug it three times and see if there is any difference. Sometimes that helps. If it does not help, try a different keyboard. There might be a compatibility issue. I have had this happen with memory, and just changing the memory fixed the problem.

Connect the keyboard to your computer by using a different PS2 port.

If you have a PS/2 keyboard the connection is bad and it isn't hot pluggable, so you need to turn it off everytime the connection is lost. Try a usb keyboard, or just another computer's keyboard to make sure it is the keyboard if you want to keep using the PS/2 connection.
