Maybe some are Not Christian as Roman Catholic. Or Maybe they are left Behind by the Sad or Cruel memories. Or Ignorant about Christmas. Or Pagan. Or Boring. Or Not abiding with the Calendar Year of Christianity. Or some are Autonomous. Or an atheist?
We Christians, Specifically Romans Catholic agree and celebrate Christmas as the Means of Sharing or Gift Giving rather than Receiving, Peace, Gathering to get interactive with everybody, to be Sorry for the Faults, and Feast to celebrate The Nativity or the Coming Of Christ as Human in this Earth. Yearly December 25th is The Ecclesiastical Year for The Church and Considered as One of The Highest Feasts We Celebrating every Year!
But For Muslims, Hindus, Buddhish, Christian Protestants and etc., I do not know! Maybe it is your turn for a Research!
Thank You.

I am a Christian minister. Most of the world celebrates Dec 25, some in January. I am a Bible person, so I go by God's Word. IF you look at a source that will go into longer detail than here, you will find that the "course of Abijah" was the time Zacharias served his turn or course as priest in the temple in Jerusalem. He & Elizabeth were parents of John the Baptist, and relatives of Mary. Jesus was born (actually incarnated, not born) six months later than John. The short answer is Jesus was born in the fall, in September. I could tell you when, but you can get close enough. Also do a study on the prophecy in Micah 4 and 5. Jesus the Messiah was to be born at Migdol Eder (Tower of the Flock) near Bethlehem. Luke records Mary placed Jesus in "The manger," not A manger. It may say in english " a manger," but if you read in a Greek Bible, the original language, it says THE manger. "The Manger" was a well in the tower in which sacrificial lambs for the 2 daily temple sacrifices were placed for inspection to make sure they fit the requirements of a perfect offering, without blemish. They were wrapped in swaddling cloths (strips of cloth----it says cloths not clothes) to keep them from injuring themselves and becoming "blemished." Also the Greek word is "kataluma" which means guest chamber, not "inn." They were there for a census, the home place of their ancestors, & there was no room in the guest chamber. You will find nearby was the Tower, and it seems she gave birth there, though it only says Mary placed Jesus in THE manger, not when. I always wondered how the shepherds knew where to go look, and why a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths lying in A manger would be some kind of sign. Were they to go through the alleys of Bethlehem, knock on doors at night and wake everyone to ask if there was a newborn there? You will find that the shepherds were special priestly shepherds who needed to know special things for the lambs raised for the sacrifices. They knew exactly where to go (Migdol Eder) and understood the "sign" of the baby wrapped in swaddling cloths; they ought to have immediately known the significance of the sacrificial life and eventual atoning death of this baby. There is a lot more but you will know if you have the right material when you see this material rather than the uninformed opinions given here or even on secular sources like Wikipedia. Also the Magi were not there until much later, when the family lived in a house and the baby was a young child. These magi showed up, having the benefit of teaching from Daniel the prophet who taught the magi under King Nebuchadnezzar over 400 years earlier. Daniel relayed what God said about when this Messiah would live, be presented to Israel, and then die (cut off). The magi subtracted about 30 years from the prophesied date and watched the stars, which God had supernaturally set up to lead them. That would be about 30 years from the end of the 483 (of 490 total) years from 445 BC, the date of the issuing of the proclamation mentioned. There is so much more here to teach you, but start with your questions and do your own research. Too many people here give opinions, well-intentioned but ignorant of the truth. God will get you to the truth eventually if you want to know and start looking. Write me at libertycreek@yahoo.com if I could help you more with where to look for your Bible questions. While I am at it, Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday, not Friday, and resurrected early Sunday (after 6 pm Sturday / Jewish sabbath ending time). John 19 will show you there were two sabbaths that week, the weekly one and the Passover holiday one. Matt. 28:1 also says sabbathS; look in the Greek again or maybe in the margin of your study Bible. John 12:1 says Jesus traveled 6 days before the Passover..... If He were traveling 6 days before a Friday crucifixion (Passover), that would have been traveling on Saturday, the weekly sabbath, when travel more than a "sabbath's journey" (three-fourths of a mile) was forbidden by the Mosaic Law for Jewish people. That eliminates a Friday.

Because christmas actually has absolutely nothing to do with the birth of christ.
It's a holiday made up by the christian church to win over pagans who were celebrating winter solstice and wouldn't convert to christianity many many many years ago.
They adopted many traditions from the pagan holiday like decorating the tree and giving presents; and even the mistletoe (I believe)

Jesus was actually born in the fall but the date changed throughout the years as to when we would actually celebrate it. Different countries look at Christmas differently. Not all celebrate the birth of Christ but are St. Nick holidays. when their Santa's arrive.
