Anything in London costs more than other parts of the UK if you want to buy a small bottle of cola it'll cost atleast £1 meals can cost at least £20 for 2 people in a restauraunt
a coffee in a café néro for example will cost £2 for a small size a sandwhich in a places like café nero or Pret a manger will cost a minimum of £2 and thats for one half of a sandwhich
a travel card to use all public transport in London will cost aprox £8-10 per day
if you go to a museum some will be free like tate modern and the national portrait gallery others will charge a fee which could be £10 per person some will be more others will be less

if your going for 10days you'll need around £100 per day £1000 in total depending on what you do on every day in your trip

London is an extremely expensive city. Public transport, taxi fares, restaurants and hotel rooms cost 50 to !00% more than other capital cities. Be sure not to pay cash fares on buses and Underground but buy a one day travelcard each day
(after 09-30am Mon to Fri anytime weekends), which allows unlimited travel on buses,Underground and suburban rail within the designated zones. If you are planning to remain in central London, a zone 1 & 2 card wil suffice, but if for example you wished to travel out to Hampton Court Palace in
Surrey on the edge of London you would need a zone 1 to 6 travelcard.

London is one of the most expensive cities in the world. It really depends what you plan on doing. If you plan on going out sightseeing during the day and out partying at night I would say to budget at least 200 pounds a day as the drinks are expensive. If you will be staying in most nights you can probably get away with 100-150 pounds per day if you eat in regular (not fancy) restaurants.

What kind of things are you after? Days out? Hotels? Bread and Milk?

The UK is pretty expensive and especially London (as its a capital city). You could always use a debit card to withdraw money as long as you have Visa attached to it? Or you could go for a travelx money passport - it uses a visa system so you can use it in whichever ATM you want.
