I sent it today, this teacher quit on October, I thought he still
worked there but I called later to the school after I sent it and they said he no longer works there since October. Will they send it back to me or will they forward it to his home address even though he quit on October(2 months ago).
If he got fired on October (which I'm thinking he did but not sure), will they forward it to his personal address or will they send it back to my address ?

I'm referring to a small medical community college in a small town. Few students and teachers.

Do you think that when they receive the card, they'll look at the card and think that it's "unworthy" for them to forward it to his address ? It is not unethical.

and another thing, do you think that more than likely they won't forward it because "the teacher no longer is their business". ?

Call the school where he worked and ask to speak to whomever is in charge of incoming mail. Tell that person about the card which you have sent. Make sure to tell them the name of the teacher. Ask the person if they know the teacher's home address and if they would be kind enough to forward it to him? You can also ask someone in the department where he worked. Explain that it would mean a lot to you, if they could render that Christmas favor.

If the person refuses, and you live in the same town, just ask if they can hold it for you when the card arrives at the school and go pick it up.

If you live far away, ask them to write "Return to sender", and put the card back in the "out mail". Ask them for his address and then send it yourself.

You sound very sincere. Good luck. I hope your card finds its way to the teacher. Happy Holidays!

In my opinion, i think they will just ignore the arrival of the card and wont bother to post it to where the person is staying. This doesnt mean only to the teacher you are referring to but also to residents as well.

My personal experience, (a few years back) i went to my friend's place and wanted to give her a greeting card at the same time. Unfortunately, she was not home. Due to my carelessness, i dropped it into the wrong letterbox. I couldnt get it out so i presume that it will defnitely reach her as her letterbox was just next to it. The address written was correct. Until now, she has not received my card.

I guess the owner of the letterbox could not be bothered to drop it into the right letterbox which was just next to it.
