Cool. There are books that have recipies you can cook for him, like the Wiccan Cookbook if you want to go that route, or you can do something with the Holly King (who looks just like Santa Claus) who rules over Yule.

I don't know of any books on becoming a Pagan. There are many books on Wicca and Witchcraft though, which many people believe is the same as Paganism, but it is simply one branch of Paganism. You can find a fair amount of info at http://www.mysticwicks.com
Most Pagans celebrate Yule or Winter Solstice on Dec 21/22, But Christmas is also Pagan in origin. It's hard to say because everyone celebrates differently. It isn't too much from traditional Christmas festivities, without the Jesus bit. Some choose to light a Yule log in the fireplace (most people don't have big open yards where they can have a bonfire like in the old days) or they may serve a Yule log cake instead. I haven't read all of them but there are several books on Yule at Amazon that look like good reading.

That's very sweet of you :) You could decorate a yule tree, or hang a yule wreath, or put up yule lights ;) Yule is the time of year, when we welcome the light back into our lives, meaning, the long nights are going to become shorter again. (That's why lights became a common thing to use to decorate with this time of year.)
Start with asking him what exactly it is that he follows. Perhaps, light a yule log (follow the tradition, look up the times and dates, of course, this only works if you have a fireplace, otherwise, see what other options you have;) ) or, ask him if he's wiccan or simply pagan. if he's wiccan, perhaps you could sit in on any ceremonies he may have. Just showing your support could be a wonderful gift.
Are you considering becoming pagan yourself? If you are, that's great, but don't do it for him, do it for you.
Good luck, and Happy Yule, and Merry Christmas!

Actually, celebrating Christmas, is a pagan ritiual. The Bible doesn't ask us to celebrate the birth of Christ, with these pagan traditions...Christ was actually born, in about Sept,..while shepards were tending their sheep, not in Dec., when it was snowing. Dec. 25, was actually the day the pagans celebrated a Sun God's day...over the years, it got confused with Santa, and all of the wrong things that the Bible stands for...Celebrate the Birth of Jesus, EVERYDAY,...with gifts, and love, not one day set aside and confused with a pagan holiday...just put in, Christmas a pagan holiday in Google, and you will see..i will try to get the link for you

Depending on what exact belief system he follows I suggest you look up the name of the celebration his belief system celebrates and wish him a happy whatever. Most pagans are still celebrating something on this day ( as it is originally there holiday). And there is many books on pagans. Have a look around and you will find one.
