Velocity Express New http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=VEXPD announced a reverse stock split. Is it wise to invest in a company after reverse split? I read it will bounce share price. Can I play the system for profit?

Given studies on splits and reverse splits, it is not possible to make money from them. It appears that they just do not matter in any way. That of course makes sense, since splits and reverse splits do not alter capital, just the mechanism of counting investor claims.
