I am not sure about how I help society by my work but I donate some money and old things to poor peoples.

I was going to school and I was very unhappy.
I had an existential crisis about my purpose in life and contribution.
I doubt deer or antelope ever question their purpose and place in the world. They just live life, have young and adore Juniper berries.
It's not my job to solve all the world's problems. I'm not obligated to make the world better. I'm just another animal on this planet. I've already done volunteer work for years and it annoys me to be told my life belongs to others.
My whole life was about others, now it's my turn. I don't care what I do for society, after 40 years, it's my turn.
Your question is condescending and stupid.
What are you doing for society? Why do you think it's up to me? I'm living my life, for a change and I'm not breaking any laws.

I work in a residential home for homeless people that are homeless due to severe mental illness. I help getting them engaged in services such as medication, benefits and transitional housing. I guess I help society by getting these people off the street and some of them get back into mainstream society. I love my job!

You also pay taxes that make all the needs government fills (police, fire, garbage, water, roads, etc.) possible.
On a personal level, I'm an artist, so I make the world a better place to live. My work is primarily "joy of life" art, so I try to lift up people's spirits, inspire them to do well, and highlight what is good about the world.

Every business exists for a purpose, to solve a need. Everything you do solves someones need, thus making their life more comfortable. That is your contribution to society, being part of the system, and making (by extension) life easier to everyone...

I make it convenient for people to have their food delivered to their door, yet about 1 in 5 don't appreciate it (pizza guy)
