Mismatched you spend more time looking at them, wanting to take in all the different ordainments around the tree, a themed three is boring you see one angle of it you've seen it all.

It depends, in a house full of kids then a lovely mismatched one looks good as it shows that the whole family played a part, but when the kids have left home you've got to have a sensible tree.

I can't decide! I guess when I was little, I liked the mismatched ones- full of our handmade and/or special ornaments. I always loved decorating the tree with those.
But as I get older, I do like the themed trees more. They look so elegant and pretty. Maybe because I'm not a kid anymore, and I don't have kids of my own.

I see Christmas as being for children (and the child in all of us) - they definately find the mismatched ones more interesting, they enjoy spotting the different ornaments hanging from the tree. I find the themed ones bland and cold, though they may look 'smart' and tidy.

I like the mismatched ones, with a variety of ornaments. The themed ones look like department store trees, like all blue bulbs. I hate the flocked trees.

ooh I was just talking about this the other day and I decided I'd rather have my mismatched tree with meaning behind every ornament than a perfectly matched themed tree.

Mismatched all the way!
Our tree is always like that and whole room is decorated in that style - explosion of colours, shapes, joy and personal mood of different designers (my sister, brother and me and sometimes nephew and niece.)
Themed ones are for official places (but even in my office is a mismatched one).

Mismatched, I hate themed trees, they look so "OCD" & boring, lol. My tree looks like an explosion in a Quality Street tin.
