Why or why not? I think he did a fair job of it, And if I had to grade him I'd give him a B. He did decent but it could of been better. I think Bush is a pretty good leader who has respect for every single American out there. He respects us all and we all respect him. God Bless America. : )

absolutely. the concept the liberals cant seem to get is the president cant create money that doesnt exist and the present proposal is so laden with pork that it didnt have a prayer of passing or working. liberal welfare schemes are nice always until the bill comes. the veto was correct.

I'm not sure what you attribute to Bush re: health care. He did create that prescription benefit with Medicare, which was actually a huge mistake. The "donut hole" coverage is an illogical nightmare that is a gift to the pharmaceutical companies. The VA does bulk buying, Medicare is prohibited. That is stupid and is hastening the bankruptcy of Medicare. Also many HMO plans DECREASED their prescription benefits to fit the stupid fed design of the "donut hole."

We still have docs leaving the system because the Ponzi scheme of Medicare is extended by reimbursing them even LESS. That means fewer choices for Medicare patients.

SCHIP is stupid--it's routinely abused. Many states have waivers to cover ADULTS. That's wrong--it's marketed as for kids. HOWEVER, in every state, there are eligible kids who could use the coverage who don't have it! Another example of the government being unable to deliver health care.

VA, IHS also don't have enough funds--rationed care is a result.

He can not be held responsible for all of this--the House originates all monetary bills and Congress passes budgets so he gets what they come up with to accept or reject.

I believe Bush's heart is in the right place. I believe his intentions are good. However, until recently, he could not utter the word "NO!" on anything. He just let everything, no matter how stupid, fly instead of using a veto on it. Government spending is even more out of control under his administration, which is making it hard to afford essentials--which include medical care.

We certainly do not all respect Bush--he's one of the most hated presidents ever. I DO respect him and I know he respects us, but the poor man is beyond lame duck now and it's a damn shame because many of his other decisions have been good ones. He deserves massive kudos for addressing Social Security at the start of term 2--though he was unable to make any progress with it. That's not his fault, but it goes to show that he does NOT have the kind of backing necessary to overcome politics as usual.

I hope God will CONTINUE to bless America because too many are letting America veer off our divinely inspired course and God's patience may well run out with us soon if we don't get it together. God will NOT do for us what we CAN and SHOULD do for ourselves.

No, I don't think he did anything for it. Before I got married last year, I didn't have insurance. I was working 40-60 hours a week between 3 jobs because the job market for newly graduated teachers was in the toilet. I worked as: substitute teacher, after school program teacher & foster childcare worker, but none of them offered insurance. I was able to use the county health clinic where I lived (which I was grateful for to at least get Celebrex for my herniated disc), but I was always the only English speaking person in there. I was floored to find out all the illegals in there didn't even have to PAY anything like I did because they all were given Medical so their healthcare was FREE. I didn't qualify because I was too responsible... I used birth control and didn't pump out illegitmate babies that would have given me the same free ride.

What did Bush do to help working AMERICANS (Keyword here - Americans, NOT illegals) get health insurance???

Bush has totally ignored the healthcare issue while in office. As prices skyrocketed and Americans died earlier and lost more children before the age of 5 than any other developed country his only action has been to underfund federal health programs and veto a bill to ensure children have health insurance.
It is one of many abject failures of his administration.

Hell NO, veto childrens healthcare is not doing a good job. There needs to be a universal healthcare in this country but the greedy corporate giants and pharmaceuticals and the private healthcare insurance will not allow there profits to be messed around with to help the average person live a full healthy life. There is no profit from cure but there is from treatment. Furthermore Bush doesn't respect a single average person out there just family, friends, and corporate buddies. Smoke some more weed brother!

I would give him a D

Health care costs are high and i've heard that its still going up. I dont think he has done anything for health care. People are still paying a lot for health care and many children are still uninsured. The fact that he vetoed a bill that would allow millions of uninsured children to get health care and the fact that he refuses to work something out with Congress shows me that health care isnt something on his to do list.

He was handed a mess! The trial lawyers, social and govt programs , illegal aliens taxing the system, VA oversight that didn't exist, made such a mess of the program that we''re all suffering, and will be suffering for years to come.

He tried to fix it, but was stopped. He understands that its going to take capping the high payouts from lawsuits and the cheesy lawyers in this country (like Edwards) will do everything in their power to keep that gravy train going.

I think he did OK. I didn't have insurance before Bush, and now I do. By the way, I was 25 and working full time when he first got into office, and still had no insurance.

Government shouldn't be in the health care biz.
