Well, it is a well known fact that christianity in the first days of existence of the Churches, hijacked the Yule pagan winter festival, celebrated on the winter solstice, to convert more people.
But why do you let it bother you? You can still celebrate your Yule festival and ignore xmas completely if you want. It is unfortunately what we have to put up with since the majority in especially the US are christian.
But yeah, I am sick of the whole xmas thing, the adds, the gross commercialisation of one religion's celebration. I enjoy it as some time with the few close people in my life, otherwise I don't give two hoots for either the spiritual or material side of it.
As said, hold your own celebration and ignore the rest...

You have a right to voice your opinion. They have a right to voice theirs. You have a right to change the channel or turn off the TV. I am not sure what you mean by "wan't", but you are free to peacefully celebrate the solstice or not.
By the way, it is not in my power to send you to hell or even make a judgment about you, even though I believe it exists.
So have a happy whatever day.

I'm not sick of the Christmas commercials but I am sick of all the racket and hype over Xmas in the stores just to get you to buy, buy, buy...many times I have turned around and said By By and left the store. At least with the TV I can mute it, select another channel or turn the TV off. You can't do that in the stores or malls.
MERRY CHRISTMAS.......Grrrrrrrrrr
what happened to peace at Xmas?

I'm a Christian and it's a great embarrassment to me that Christians have "stolen" many of the ancient ways and "sanctified" them by imposing our own myths and legends on them. It's not fair and it's not right. I wish you bright blessings in your Yule celebration.

No, not at all. I love the Christmas story. The Son of God born in a stable to save our souls. Awesome.

Christmas should be turned into Leap Christmas then we would only have to endure/ignore it every 4 years.

I do not believe in god - don't put a label on me. But call it Christmas or Yuletide lets enjoy - it it is part of our tradition.
We do not believe in Santa but we pretend for the kids.
Buy presents for the kids - not for adults and stick to it
