Did you think that ship looked correct for that era, or more like a Next Gen era ship? Did it look too much like Akira class, or differnt enough to be it's own ship?

I originally thought it would look more like a Deadalus class (NX-100), crude and makeshift looking. The NX-01 is an even earlier model, so it should look it. Instead it looks bigger and more advanced. It does seem to look a lot like an Akira class, though.

Yes its very similar to Akira class starships and it does look, to me, from its outside more like a Next generation type of ship with a little NCC 1701 in its nacelles. But just imagine how the original series would have looked if we could do a redo on that whole series. Then the NX-01 would look appropriate for its era.

They tried to make it look a lot rougher and clunkier than the Next Gen ships (they were really smooth). But due to better special effects, it looked a lot more futuristic than the original cardboard thingy.

It looked too futuristic. They should have simplified it. Instead, they took things a bit too far. They should have taken the NCC -1701 Enterprise and worked backwards towards the Pheonix of "First Contact".

I think they should have made it like Red Dwarf. I thought it was a little too good looking, but hey why the hell should I care, its a ruddy TV show!

It looked okay, although the CGI made it seem more futuristic than the plastic-model looking ones.
