Charles' law is quantitative. The experiment is qualitative, so it may illustrate the same effects, but no more.

Strictly speaking, we can never "prove" a scientific law, as it may break down if we look more closely. For example, Charles' Law is true for ideal gases (that's part of the definition of ideal), but real gases always deviate from it slightly.
