A very interesting question....

Since a very huge part of the American way of thinking is "We are #1", and we deserve to be #1, and we will settle for nothing less than being #1, I think we will have a country full of even more crazy people than we have now!!! Americans, in a large part, act like "ugly" people in the world, with the arrogant idea that everyone else should envy and emulate us. If we had to take a step back or down it would really "mess up" some heads!

Hopefully we'll build a wall ..... just kidding
Seriously, America probably won't be here anymore when its not the world's most powerful country. TOO many other countries don't like America or Americans very much and you can bet your bottom dollar that NO other country would be coming to our aid as we ALWAYS have for others.

I think by the time that happens, oil resources will have been seriously depleted and "globaloney" will cease to exist.

I think America will be a bit more agricultural (more than it is now). I think today's suburbs will be tomorrows slums. I think that rail transit will be re-instituted. I think unemployment will be higher, and mass production will seriously decrease (due to uneconomical trade practices and America's weakening manufacturing core).

I think the new America will be more focused on urban well being rather than regional well being. I think municipalites will get more power, because resource depletion will mean government will have to be more flexible due to varying responses across the country.

First thing it's a falacy that America is the most power ful country in this world. Second thing even in case it is true nothing special abt it, bcos in dis world no body is independent. Every ccountry is dependent on other countries for one or th other thing be it oil, literature, food, culture, market share & this list goes on & on.

It might not be that bad. Nobody really wants a piece of Canada, Norway, or Ireland. It would be nice to get that bullseye off our back.
