There is some kind of guilty pleasure in pulling books such as Sweet Valley High and The Babysitter's Club off my shelf to read once again. I am thinking I am the only one still enjoying books like this even though I have clearly outgrown them. So whats your guilty pleasure?

i love the fudge books....

but i'm a teacher, so it's part of my job that i read my favorite books from my childhood...i love sharing them and passing them on.

before i became a teacher, i did it anyways.

There are some books that I still read that I read as a teenager, but a lot of those are the stuff that we were assigned through class. I guess my guilty pleasure reading is science fiction, some of which I picked up in High School and college (like Frank Herbert, Stephen Donaldson, and Robert Heinlein) and others that I have discovered since then (like David Webber, Laurel Hamilton, and Kelly Armstrong).

Encylopedia Brown was my favorite series of books when I was younger. I can't say that I read them now.. But i think I'll try to find a couple for my kids for Christmas to go along with the rubiks cube I'm putting in the stockings. I'm sure they'll be thrilled. LOL!!

I read other books too, but my favorites from childhood and teen years are quick reads. Plus you can just reread your favorite chapter or skip the boring parts.

I'm reading the "Golden Compass (His Dark Materials)" series right now even though it's considered "young adult". It's lots of fun I'm really enjoying it.
