Hell no, not unless you want to take a chance and remove some of your original paint. Try some "Bug & Tar" remover but, I have used a product from 3M and it is called "Pink fill-n-Glaze" and you should be able to find it at your local body shop supply shop. If they don't carry it ask for there asstince, they can help with the right products, it's there job.

If the black mark is something that rubbed onto the finish (as opposed to being damage to the paint itself), rubbing it with gas may or may not work. If it doesn't, then try scratch-removing polish which you can buy at most auto parts stores. It's good for taking out light scuff marks and minor scratches, as well as anything that might have adhered to the surface of the paint.

I have done it before. Mainly because I was out of bug and tar remover. I put a small amount of gas onto a rag and wiped the mark off, and then washed the film off quickly as I could. Just be careful. The paint they use now is clear coat and you don't want to mess it up.
good luck

gas will not eat your paint. however gas wont take out a scratch. a scuff, or mark maybe, but a scratch no. gas will however strip your wax off. so be sure to rewax where your using it.
good luck

I would not recommend using gas because it may eat the paint off of the vehicle.
