That's a cereal. what about Akasha, like Aaliyah's character in Queen of the Damned?

It depends on how you want your child to be perceived in later life. People judge others by their names. This is unfortunate but it is a fact.
There is a trend nowadays for people from poorer or lower working class backgrounds to give their children 'unusual' names such as the one you are suggesting (usually with a different or unusual spelling). In future, this will give everyone with such a name a reputation of coming from a less well off background.
If you name your child Kasha, would you be happy with her being judged on job applications? Would you mind if people assumed she was a 'chav' just because of her name? Would it be a problem that people had made assumptions about her from her name and hadn't taken the time to get to know her?
If you're happy with the above, go ahead and name your child whatever you like, everyone has that right! But just be aware of how others will perceive it.

No, sorry. I just had kasha for supper last night, and will have the leftovers for lunch today. I bake it (proportions like rice), and serve with fried bacon and pickles. Yum.
No, not a name for a child.

Yes, I like it. It is very unique. Except how about spelling it just like that- Kasha (KAH-sha)? That's how i read it when I first saw the name.

No, I immediately thought of Kashi crackers (or whatever they are). Is this a boy or girl's name? And, is it pronounced Kasha or Kosha (short "o" sound)?
