There's a contradiction. You USUALLY give up. That is you. Confidence comes from preparedness. Satisfy yourself that you have prepared enough. Change your attitude about writing the exam. Seriously try to enjoy it and don't mind the time. Be comfortable and the new you won't give up.

Staying up all night studying is likely to be counterproductive--especially if you tend to give up in the middle of an exam!
Better to get some rest so you can have a more positive attitude during the test. Study those parts that you really need to in order to boost your confidence, but when your body and mind tell you that you are getting too tired (and you won't learn effectively when you're too tired either!) then go to bed and get some decent sleep.
The single most important thing for you will be to keep trying during the exam. Very often on exams I'll find questions that at first scare me because I think that I have no idea how to solve them. If I calm down a little and let my mind relax, then most of the time I figure out that I have some clue about how to attack that problem after all.
You have no excuse to allow yourself to give up on an exam. By doing so you are not giving yourself the full advantage of the time you are allotted and aren't allowing yourself to gain any learning on the exam, either. I usually learn something new on every exam I take--I figure out something by struggling through the exam that I didn't understand before I got handed that test. I probably wouldn't have learned it either, except for the motivation to get a good grade on that stinkin' test! Don't shortchange yourself this opportunity by quitting early.
Good luck, study those areas that you need more confidence on, get some decent sleep, get a good breakfast, and then DON'T YOU DARE GIVE UP!

If you're tired and able to sleep, do so, and get up a couple of hours earlier.
Giving up is a kind of emotional feeling. If you feel like giving up, give up, but only for a minute. Enjoy the minute, then consider you've got a new, shorter exam, with a shorter time to do it.
Another hint: take a piece of hard candy into the exam, and during your minute of rest, take it off your desk, where you put it at the beginning, and enjoy.
Don't second-guess your multiple choice answers, unless you're really enlightened the second time around.
After your test, consider making an appointment with a counselor at your college. Tell your story about test anxiety and desire to give up half-way through. And/or call 1-800-232-6459 http://www.family.org for a free licensed counselor visit, with local references, if you like.
You might enjoy Martha Beck's "Expecting Adam" and Ann Ree Colton's "Watch Your Dreams."
Good fortune with your exam, and I hope you find healing for what is a somewhat minor, somewhat major, problem.

You can only give it your all if you have studied.
Study all night. Rest after you have studied.
Rest is a reward after work. Do the work first.
