I grew up on a ranch and we raised horses, cows and grew hay for selling and feeding the livestock. And yes I appreciate the ranchers/farmers very much because I know first hand how hard that life style is

I am surrounded by farms. But, I am on a non-working farm land. I have a horse stable next acre over and cornfields (when in season) toward the north. I hope I never leave my home or this area. I simply love it. I am just far enough away from major shopping but not isolated either. It is an old farmhouse without the farm. It has a cottage feel....I love riding my lawn tractor...so peaceful. I work in the city, that is all I can take of it...nature is sooo grand!

i go to farm shops regularly because i like to purchase local food have only stayed in a rented farm cottage on a hill farm in wales a couple of times. yes i do appreciate the long ours and hard work that farmers have to do to even get a reasonable living. i try not to buy fresh produce from supermarkets because i think that it is wrong the way that they keep their payments to farmers far too low it is so unfair.

Lived on a farm....
We raised....Horses, Rabbits, Chickens, Sheep, Cows, and Ducks.....and...Corn and hay....Plus, a huge kitchen garden.....

Now, I just live in the country....There are some beef cows and donkeys in the back pasture....and I raise a vegetable garden and grow a lot of (legal) herbs....

I love country life....and would probably smoother in the city....
Peace.

my husband grew up on a farm and his parents still live there. I love going there and checking things out, I can now tell what certain crops are from afar and I know the difference from a John Deere and aAlis Chalmers tractor. (John Deere in your avatar)

When I was a child, we lived on a farm and we had hogs, cows, chickens, ducks, and of course cats and dogs. We also raised big gardens. I have always worked in gardens. I have always appreciated farmers. Farm work is hard, but it is worth it. I always enjoyed living on a farm.

Black Angus cattle and tobacco. All the farms around here are slowly but surely becoming subdivisions.
