My Fiance and I were wondering?? We came u in a community were we were all like family.. We all called each others Mom, "Mom". We were loving, and supportive and even though I've moved away we all keep in touch still. They are sooo like family and I love them. I mean we would walk in each other fridges, exchange clothes, wear each others shoes. If one was sad we all were sad.

This is how our houses were each "X" represents a home we were part of.......

X__X__X
X______X
there were 5 houses!

This is exactly how my friends and I are! We see each other as siblings--and even hang out with each others' siblings! Also, parents are always called mom or dad or some other derivation of the word, and dinners take place at whatever house we happen to be at. :) The world would be a happier place if communities always raised their children like this--I learned respect for all adults this way, and also how to treat younger siblings (even those who weren't "my own"...).

I lived across the street from my life-long (still) best friend and her Grandparents lived down the street in a flat (w/ her son & his family below) . . . so yes.

I called the Grandparents "Aunt" & "Uncle" until they passed. My BF has a daughter which calls me Aunt and I consider my neice . . . same will go when my baby is born (due 12/25).

I love having this extended family . . . oddly enough my BF and I went thru the divorce of our parents at the same time, deaths, births . . . she is truely my sister! We could not have made it "out" w/o each other.

That's pretty neat. I lived in a place where the kids all played together every day and we stayed close as adults.

I think that this type of "question" should be in a blog.
because it's asking us a personal question instead of a solution for YOUR personal question.

and no, I think that neighbors are just friends.
but sometimes you think really good friends as brothers or sisters.

No, I never had this, but it does sound ideal, except for calling everyone else's mom , mom too. They should be aunts.
