Well I think since you have boyfriend in quotes that you know this not how you want to be treated.
If he was treating you in an acceptable manner he would be your boyfriend, no quotes.
So you get to ask yourself what do you want in a boyfriend and if he is not it send him to the curb. You seem way to nice to put up with someone who does not deserve you, so stop being so nice and decide what you need in a boyfriend and act. Don't keep him around so that you have one, get one that is not going to mess with you, get one who will treat you well care for you and possible be in it for a while.

I learned the hard way. My first boyfriend really messed with my head -- no way anybody's going to do that to me again. It hurts to go, but it can hurt to stay more.

Lock your emotions up in a trunk so he can't get to them. Seriously though, lay down some ground rules and tell him you won't put up with his crap.

If they are someone that is doing this on purpose, I would have already dumped him, there is enough negativity in life without somebody that should care about you adding to it!! I'd rather be alone than to be with someone like that!!

That is a difficult issue to predict. I guess if you called him an "insensitive clod" often enough the message may sink in.
