Okay, so I led my 16 year old niece to think that I can find almost anything out on the net, so I need your help! She wants me to find out what movie it was with Astaire that the leading woman (who was NOT Ginger Rogers) sang a song about how he (Astaire's character) wouldn't even kiss her and it was in the woods while it was snowing...any ideas?! My pride is riding on this!
thanx!

I can say for certain that it is NOT Holiday Inn.. (as my mother loves that movie.. and I've seen that at least once EVERY holiday.. ) His character in Holiday Inn is a womanizer who would kiss ANY woman at any time.. not only that, but there was no point where they were in the woods in the snow..

Fred Astaire actually made several movies without Ginger Rogers.

With Rita Hayworth: You'll Never Get Rich, You Were Never Lovelier.

With Vera-Ellen: Three Little Words, The Belle of New York (a personal favorite of mine that's underplayed)

With Cyd Charisse: The Band Wagon, Silk Stockings

Then there is always Royal Wedding (with Jane Powell), Daddy Long Legs (with Leslie Caron, better known in her role as Gigi), Funny Face (with Audrey Hepburn), Broadway Melody of 1940 (with Eleanor Powell).

My bet, however, would be that the movie Holiday Inn, though I don't remember the song itself -- most of the songs in the movie being eclipsed, for me at least, by "The Best Things Happen When You're Dancing."

Incidentally, Ginger Rogers made quite a few movies on her own without Fred Astaire -- her career predated his by quite a bit, for one thing -- one of the best being "Bachelor Mother" with, of all people, David Niven.
