I personally would like to see Dave Grohl or even Chris Cornell remake it.
Don`t get me wrong i love the original, one of the greatest songs ever written in my opinion, but it wouldnt hurt to get it back on the airwaves for this new generation which rarely see`s talented songwriting.

Well, no matter who sings it, i don`t think it could top Fogelbergs pure voice or even his guitar picking.
Another artist i did`nt mention was Eddie Vedder, his voice might do a remake more justice while giving it a a slightly different sound.

I love the original too, but I'm a little concerned in that I have heard so many covers that just butchered the original. Upon rare exception, the cover is better than the original (like Eva Cassidy's version of "Time After Time" or the Rod Stewart version of Cat Steven's "The First Cut is the Deepest" [recently remade again by Cheryl Crow - and a woman's voice is an improvement]). I wonder how "Leader of the Band" would come across if it was sung by a woman?
I don't think there are any songs I don't care for on "The Innocent Age". My favorite is "The Reach", which never made the airwaves.

There's nothing like the original. Even someone revived it, Leader Of The Band for me will always be by Sir Dan Fogelberg.

Since Dan Fogelberg wrote the song about his father, I don't think so. That's because it's too personal to be remade by anyone else.
