and the additional lines cost an extra $9.99 each.
I lost one of the phones which was on one of the additional lines. That particular line is NOT eligible for an upgrade. I am still paying the extra $9.99 per month. I want to keep the line, so how do I go about getting a replacement phone if I am NOT eligible for an upgrade on that line with the lost phone?

I have the exact same plan as you: the main line and 2 family. If you didn't have it insured, you'll have to pay for a new phone. Probably the cheapest thing to do would be to go to somewhere like Wal-Mart and buy an ATT/Cingular go-phone because that way you get the chip and phone together, take it to your nearest ATT store and have them assign that chip the phone number of the lost phone. You'll probably have to pay an activation fee too, but trust me, it's the cheapest route. I've had to do that before and then you can use the go phone until it's time to upgrade.

Ok there are a few ways to work this!
1) buy a new phone outright and put insurance on it this time
2) if one of the other lines are eligible to upgrade USE that upgrade and tell them your going to use it on the lost line. (happens all the time)
3) if no line is eligible to upgrade call customer care and tell them the line is missing (you want to suspend it anyway to make sure someone else isnt using your minutes and running up your bill) if you have no insurance and are not eligible to upgrade and have at least 6 months tenure with that line we can get you whats called an exception upgrade. its not the best discount in the world but its something! ALSO PUT INSURANCE ON THE PHONE!!!

You have to go into the store and buy one. You may be able to upgrade one of the other phones on the plan and move that old one to the other line. You may be able to purchase one at the discounted price if you extend your contract.

You can get used phones on Ebay as well.

unless u have the insurance coverage which will replace the phone for a $50 deductible... then u will be stuck payin regual price unless you buy one from someone you know or go through ebay or someof theses others who will sell you an unlocked phone...

it may be good to add insurance to all thelines in case of situations like this!!!

goood luck!

Yes it would be to activate another line at a verizon store. line of service would cost you $9.99 to add to your existing plans. You would simply have to pay the price of the equipment when you purchase it. If you sign a two year you can usually get one under $50.
