okay just answered a question about welfare that brought up some anger so here it goes....
why is it that in my job i had to get drug-tested to work there but a man/woman going to the welfare office collecting my money doesnt need to take a drug test? so its illegal for me to buy drugs....but its still my money purchasing it right?
I have 2 jobs and just asked welfare for a bit of foodstamps to help me survive the month not a lot maybe 40-50 a month.nope you know why? because im not pregnant, disabled, or have kids thats what they told me? so basically if i pop out a kid their gonna buy my food when i have no job.But when im being resposible and have jobs they wont let me?
They told me i had to work 80 hours a month to be eligible for food stamps-i work 90-100 and i have to have 100-120 for medical? because im over 80-no food stamps under 100 no medical? what is that crap?
and why are these people able to have a kid without having to get on b/c?i dont wanna pay for them?

Welcome to the world of the socialistic democrats. They will tell you all sorts of BS like: it's for the kids! But they don't demand (or insist) that the recipient learn anything -- like personal responsibility of consequence. When I was station in 29 Palms, Ca., they ran a "human Interest" story about a couple living in a Howard Johnson's in San Bernadino. Seems they'd just moved there from Las Vegas and were upset about the cost of rent at HoJo's and how little the government was willing to pay. They weren't married, had 4 kids (different fathers, every one) and had another on the way. The article told of how much money per child, etc.. It so pissed me off. They were being GIVEN more money than I was making while serving our country. And I was supposed to feel sorry for them. Right. And what were her kids learning from all of this? Answer: how to take Uncle Sam for a ride! That gravey train needs to come to a screaching halt. And so now we're supposed to feel pitty for those who don't have health care insurance and give it to them -- for the sake of the children! We already "GIVE" them a free education. And we're supposed to cover for them and all of their lousy life's decisions? One bad decision right after another. I say, consequences baby. You made your bed, now sleep in it! And while we're at it, hey kids! Your parents can afford cell phones, internet, cable or satelite, drive a relatively new car, cigarettes, sodas and beer but they can't afford to give you healthcare. Don't blame those of us who worked for it or the government! Blame your parents!

Drug Testing is an option an employer can require to insure you - a potential employee - will not be a threat due to possible drug abuse. Some places have it - others don't. It varies.
Welfare is given to people less fortunate than you. They may be old, ill, unemployed or whatever. To get welfare, a drug test is not required. That's the rules. Fair? Maybe not.
If you have two jobs, why do you need welfare support? Are you wasting the money you earn? I worked all my life and never thought of asking for welfare. Why do you need it? You seem to feel sorry for yourself and feel like the government needs to take care of you. You need to take care of yourself and get a life.
Whether you use your money or someone else's - purchasing illegal drugs is a crime and you can go to jail for doing it.

I know folks who actually have kids just so they can get food stamps and other government help. I'm single, working, dont have any kids, have my own place and a car. I'm barely scrapeing by! A lot of the time I have to still eat at my folks house. I am elgiable for $14.00 a month worth of food stamps. My neighbor has a fake back problem, is on disability, (though she still climbs latters, digs post holes and pours cement around her place), receives $145.00 stamps per month. She owns 3 cars, 2 mopeds, a boat, a golf cart and takes winter vacations to Mexico!! She complains about how poor she is. Something is not right here!!sick of this BS too!!

the welfare system is bad. Too much abuse. I say use that money for group homes for kids. If parents wont support them then put them in a home and school them. They grow up on welfare they stay on welfare. The system is destructive. I once tried to get the welfare dept to buy a bus ticket for a single mom to get home where she could get help. She was refused. A grown man came in and got money to fix his car> The welfare workers try to keep many on the rolls to protect their job. It is a scam

Ridiculous isn't it? The whole welfare systems fosters abuses and encourages fraud. If you are lazy and won't work and sit back and hatch out a bunch of kids you can get welfare. If you work you can't you don't qualify for social services. Unless you work a job where you are getting paid "under the table" and can lie and say your not working.

Without welfare there would be more crime. Plus they usually tie welfare costs into some other area of government, like schools, or job training programs. That's how most of these bills get pasts. That's our government at work. (shrugging shoulders)

Those are the same rules that people who receive aid have to abide by. True, there are people who take advantage of the system (far too many, in my opinion), but there are those -- yes, even with children -- who do need it. It's why the government aid system needs to work more on a case by case basis.

The bottom line is this: you make too much money to qualify for food stamps. That's all there is to it.
If you only need "80.00" or so, get a part time job.
