We have been having problems with our Qwest cell plan. Payment was due on the 15th (Saturday), today is the 17th (monday). My husband's screen went dead on phone and they told him if he paid the bill, he would not have a problem. We have been with Qwest 9 years, had great payment history and I am not taking that attitude from them anymore. She refused to let him speak with repair until he paid the bill. I had the same problem when we lost our daughter's phone and they told me that I had better find it or pay $250 within 5 days for breach of contract. I will pay more for great service. Anyone have a great service provider? I will pay to get out of my contract to not have to deal with their customer 'disservice' department.

Best to go with no contract, I use Page Plus they are on Verizons network so they have service almost everywhere and its always excellent, if you dont use many minutes you can just use the standard plan and pay less than 6¢ per each minute you use or If you talk alot on nights and weekends you can add free nights and weekends for 47¢ per day, If you talk alot, like over an hour everyday then you should go with the unlimited anytime minutes plan for 2.99 per day and talk all you want anytime. either way there is no contract and no credit check, you can use any verizon capable phone so you can actually just go to walmart and buy a prepaid verizon inpulse phone and get to a computer and go to http://www.PagePlusUSA.com to activate it before you even open the package, dont mess up and activate it with Verizon prepaid like the package says or you will pay alot more for the same service. Just my 2¢ and my own personal solution, I pay alot less than people on contracts for the same service and I dont have monthly bills, I usually just buy an $80 card every 4 months and I talk mostly nights and weekends, it evens out to about $20 per month if I go easy on the day minutes.

Get a prepaid phone. Then no bills and if you loose the phone or break it you can go and get another for cheap with the same number and you can go for months and not have a bill. Every carrier charges 150 to 300 for early termination. Or you can cancel the contract and build up a repor with the company stating you haven't recieved the service that is written in the contract i.e. terrible reception in the bathroom or the closet.
