You would look stupid. Seriously, there is no reason to do that. You won't get any performance gains at all, and you will lose a small amount of visibility.

It would look stupid, plus your speedometer will be off. If we are not talking about drag racing (or any kind of racing) and more about a daily driver, then you can achieve better handling by increasing the radius (or size) of the rim while getting a set of lower profile tires. If the bigger rim is also wider, you can fit wider tires also, giving you better traction. Beware of the offset since you are likely to go aftermarket. Mazda has a very high offset in general (+52mm). Most aftermarket rims are +45mm.

they do that for traction when drag racing. Changing the front tire size with also throw off your speedometer on a front wheel drve car

I'm not sure if people actually put larger wheels on the front tires but you would be able to pull it off if you put the larger wheels on the rear...

Your handling would suffer a great deal. I guess these "people" know more about automotive engineering than the engineers who designed and built the car.

You'd also go through tires real fast; you wouldn't be able to rotate them except side to side.

And, in my humble opinion, it would look stupid as hell.

You would get terrible gas mileage because you would be going uphill all the time.

It's something that people who have no clue what their talking about would suggest.

You would be driving uphill all the time.

And your headlights would wake up sleeping squirrels.
