4x^2 – 36y^2

= 4 ( x^2 - 9y^2) = 4 (x + 3y) (x - 3y)

(x^2 - 9y^2) is a difference of 2 squares.

3x^2 – 2x – 8

= (3x + 4)(x - 2) (trial and error, get factors of 8 and try them out one by one)

24x^2 + 10x – 4

Same trial and error approach:

(6x + 4)(4x - 1)

Greetings,

4(x^2 - 9y^2) = 4(x - 3y)(x + 3y)

3x^2 - 2x - 8
= 3x^2 - 6x + 4x - 8
= 3x(x - 2) + 4(x - 2)
= (3x + 4)(x - 2)

24x^2 + 10x - 4
= 2(12x^2 + 5x - 2)
= 2(12x^2 +8x - 3x - 2)
= 2(4x(3x + 2) - 1(3x + 2))
= 2(4x -1)(3x + 2)

Regards

4(x^2-9y^2)=4(x-3y)(x+3y)

(3x + 4 )( x - 2 )

2(12x^2+5x-2)=2(3x^2 + 2 )( 4x^2 - 1 )

4 (x^2- 9y^2)

(3x -4)(x+2)

2(12x^2 + 5x -2)

adding to mrr86's response, the first one is also the difference of two squares

( 2x + 6y ) ( 2x - 6y )
