My dad used to have a watch that when he moved his wrist it winded up by itself.. I cant remember the name for it.. It didnt need batteries if i remember correctly.. but i was young..
I know he looked for one once but couldnt find one..
Anyone know what the name of them are??
I really want to get him one for christmas.. Please help.

They were called automatic. Most brands made them, they were all the rage between wind ups and battery powered.
Arm movement caused the inner working to do the winding.
If the watch was left sitting for a long period of time it would wind down and stop.

It's cal;led an Automatic....it has a special spring balance pendulum inside.....movement keeps it on time and always going! Expensive, if you're after on e now/ new....$350- $500.

I don't know what brand they are but the are self winding.

perpetual watces. if you dont wear them they unwind the movement of your wrist keeps the hand movement, this is common with rolex and other expensive watches
